Miley Cyrus is officially staying put.

Even with the drop of her new visual album Something Beautiful—a project she calls anultimate fulfillment”—the 32-year-old superstar has no plans to tour. Speaking to Good Morning America, Cyrus was candid about what’s keeping her off the road.

“I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,she said.

The singer, whose career spans more than two decades, pointed to the lack of support artists face when navigating life on tour.

“I also don’t think that there is actually an infrastructure that supports artists, she added.

For Cyrus, the decision goes deeper than logistics—it’s about preserving her health, both physical and emotional. Sobriety, a central pillar in her life, is part of what’s fueling her hesitation.

It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road, which is a really important, kind of pillar of stability in my life, she said.

Mental wellness is another key concern. Cyrus described the highs and lows of performing night after night and the psychological toll it can take.

“You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love. And then you totally crash at the end of the show, and you start thinking that one person loving you is not enough, it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.”

This isn’t the first time Cyrus has opened up about her aversion to touring. After her 2014 Bangerz tour, she told Vogue UK,I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t. Not only can’t, because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

Since then, she’s opted for smaller performances and one-off appearances. Most recently, she joined Beyoncé in Paris to performII Most Wanted, their collaborative track from Cowboy Carter.

“When you’re standing beside her, you can actually feel her desire and her passion,Cyrus said of Beyoncé.That to me is a win. It’s not a trophy, it’s not something physical that you hold or put on a shelf, but it’s something that I have that’s a true win.”

Despite stepping back from live touring, Cyrus continues to deliver for fans. Something Beautiful drops July 16 on Disney+ and Hulu.
