Taylor Swift’s Rare CD, Recorded at Age 11, Sells for Over $12,000 at Auction

A rare CD featuring recordings by Taylor Swift as a child has fetched a remarkable $12,505 at auction, highlighting the singer-songwriter’s early musical talents and enduring popularity.

The autographed six-track disc, which includes original recordings and covers of songs by artists like Dolly Parton and The Chicks, was sold through Goldin Auctions on Saturday, June 15. According to the auction house, the CD was recorded by Swift at the age of 11 during her time living in Reading, Pennsylvania. It was reportedly taken to Nashville by Swift and her mother, Andrea, to explore opportunities in the music industry.

The CD bears Swift’s name, a track list, and a black-and-white portrait of the young artist, along with contact information that is now partly obscured by Swift’s prominent signature.

Songs featured on the EP include Swift’s original compositions “Am I Ready for Love” and “Can I Go With You,” along with covers of The Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble,” LeAnn Rimes’ “One Way Ticket (Because I Can),” Dolly Parton’s “Here You Come Again,” and Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted To You.”

Swift, now a global superstar, recently marked a milestone in her career with the completion of the 100th show on her highly successful Eras Tour at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, England, on Thursday, June 13. Following three consecutive shows at the venue, she took to Instagram to reflect on the achievement.

“So many dreamy memories from Liverpool!! We played our 100th show on The Eras Tour (which feels truly deranged to say because this show feels new to me every time we play it),” Swift shared in her Instagram caption.

The Eras Tour, which has captivated audiences with its elaborate productions and Swift’s charismatic performances, is set to resume on Tuesday, June 18 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The European leg of the tour will continue until Tuesday, Aug. 20, after which Swift will return to North America for additional shows, culminating on Sunday, Dec. 8 at BC Place in Vancouver.

Swift’s concerts have consistently drawn enthusiastic crowds, and the recent performances in Liverpool broke stadium attendance records, underscoring her enduring popularity and the fervor of her fan base.
