Sabrina Carpenter has officially revealed plans to release her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29, 2025.
The announcement comes shortly after the debut of her new single, “Manchild,” which premiered at No. 1 on the Global Spotify chart with 8.05 million streams, setting the year’s record for a female artist. The track, which critiques emotionally immature men, sparked buzz online and fueled speculation about an upcoming project.
Carpenter confirmed the album via social media on Wednesday, writing, “My new album, ‘Man’s Best Friend’ 🐾 is out on August 29, 2025. I can’t wait for it to be yours x.” She also shared the cover art, which shows her in a black dress while a suited man pulls her hair—a visual choice that’s received mixed reactions.

This new album arrives just a year after Short n’ Sweet, which included hits like “Espresso” and earned Carpenter six Grammy nominations, including wins for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.
In a letter to fans, Carpenter explained that she hadn’t intended to release another album so soon, but felt creatively compelled: “I felt so at ease making Man’s Best Friend… This one felt like riding a bike!”
The project draws inspiration from Donna Summer, Stevie Nicks, and Dolly Parton. During an Instagram Live, Carpenter previewed the album while flipping through vinyls by those artists, ending with her own.
Carpenter’s rollout strategy has echoed her recent teaser from earlier this month, which showed her hitchhiking along a desert road, sparking debate among fans about whether a “Busy Woman” music video or a new single was on the way.

With Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter continues to build momentum ahead of her resuming the “Short n’ Sweet” world tour in October. She’s also scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza Chicago and BST Hyde Park this summer.
