Recently, singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson announced that he planned on releasing a documentary that would cover some of his reflections on being a member of one of the most famous boy bands in the world, and showcase his solo career. The band in question was One Direction, which was formed by famed record producer and television personality Simon Cowell when the band’s members, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik were all contestants on the U.K.’s X Factor.
Each member of the band, which initially formed in 2010, paved the way for each of its members to find their own unique paths to success. Harry Styles won the Grammy for album of the year with his third album Harry’s House, released in 2022. Niall Horan is currently a judge on NBC’s The Voice, and has also produced several chart-topping tracks. Tomlinson endured a more complicated last few years than his former bandmates, after his mother and sister both passed away shortly after the band’s final breakup.
The documentary is likely to showcase the impact that these personal events had on Tomlinson’s career, and his experience with cancelling a tour at the height of COVID-19. Additionally, Tomlinson was notably the principle songwriter behind many of One Direction’s hit pop songs, and the documentary will offer an inside look into his creative process.
Allegedly, all of Tomlinson’s former bandmates were invited to the premiere of Tomlinson’s documentary, titled All Of Those Voices, after a lyric from his 2022 album Faith In The Future. Amid their busy schedules, Liam Payne was the only one able to attend. Fans were shocked as photos and videos of Payne at the event circulated on Twitter, as he previously spoke negatively of his experience in the band on Logan Paul’s podcast in June 2022.

In a brief red carpet interview, Payne thanked his bandmates, notably Tomlinson, for supporting him during dark times he has gone through in the past. Payne found himself in a few controversies in 2022, from his statements on Paul’s podcast in which he insinuated that he was the most successful solo artist from One Direction to an alleged cheating scandal that resulted in a breakup with ex-fianceé Maya Henry.
“I'll be honest with you, Louis, all the boys have been there for me.
I've suffered a bit of a dark time in my life at the moment and honestly I wouldn't be here without the boys.” – Liam Payne???? pic.twitter.com/PqTYxyls2w

Other fans of One Direction spread a rumor about Niall Horan being spotted in London, though it has not been confirmed whether he was present at the premiere.

One Direction broke up in 2016, shortly after Zayn Malik initially left the band to pursue a solo career. In the years following the breakup, the band members have seldom reunited, with the exception of Niall Horan being spotted at several shows on Harry Styles’ “Love On Tour.” The reunion of Payne and Tomlinson tonight tugged at nostalgia for fans who have been there since the beginning.

More than a decade after the band’s initial formation, one thing remains clear–all of those voices of fans across the world cheering them on, as a band and as solo artists, have marked the band members’ lives forever. All Of Those Voices comes to theaters in the U.S. on March 22.
