Trisha Paytas just got a first listen to the upcoming single from Katy Perry’s upcoming album before anyone else.
The YouTube personality took to social media and posted a reaction video of her first time listening to the new song in her car. Though the audio was not something viewers could hear, many got a first hand reaction to Paytas listening to the new music. “Katy gets it,” the star mentioned.
Katy Perry embraced Independence Day with a burst of patriotic flair, donning a bedazzled red, white, and blue bathing suit top as she posed in homage to Rosie the Riveter’s iconic pose. The singer-songwriter shared her festive look in a sizzling Instagram post, capturing the essence of American pride on July 4th.
In her caption, Perry teased her upcoming single, “Woman’s World,” set to release on July 11th. Her return to the music scene follows a recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week, where she previewed lyrics from the song on the trailing train of her red velvet Balenciaga dress.
Katy Perry’s upcoming album has sparked controversy among fans following news of her collaboration with music producer Dr. Luke, a figure embroiled in legal disputes with singer Kesha over allegations of sexual abuse.
Perry, who recently announced her seventh album and teased her first single of 2024, “Woman’s World,” had anticipated a positive reception after a four-year gap since her last album, “Smile.”

Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, is set to be credited on Perry’s upcoming album, prompting backlash due to his contentious history with Kesha. The singer Kesha, legally known as Kesha Rose Sebert, filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in October 2014, alleging infliction of emotional distress, sex-based crimes, and employment discrimination.
The legal battle intensified when Dr. Luke retaliated with a defamation lawsuit against Kesha and her mother, Rosemary Patricia Sebert. In response, Kesha counter-claimed that Dr. Luke had subjected her to sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse during their professional relationship. She also accused him of drugging and raping her on two occasions.
However, Kesha’s counter-claims were dismissed in April 2016, partly due to a deposition video where she stated under oath that Dr. Luke had never assaulted or drugged her. Kesha later contested these statements, alleging they were made under duress.
In June 2023, Kesha and Dr. Luke settled their legal disputes, issuing a joint statement. Kesha expressed a desire to move forward, stating, “Only God knows what happened that night. I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened.” Dr. Luke reiterated his innocence, stating, “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone.”
The inclusion of Dr. Luke on Perry’s album has reignited discussions about accountability in the music industry and has led to criticism from fans who believe Perry should distance herself from individuals accused of serious misconduct. The backlash underscores ongoing debates about ethics and moral responsibility within the entertainment sector.
Representatives for Katy Perry and Dr. Luke have not responded to requests for comment regarding the backlash surrounding their collaboration on Perry’s forthcoming album. As the release date approaches, Perry faces continued scrutiny over her decision to work with Dr. Luke amid lingering public skepticism and concern.
