Summary:

  • Justin Bieber quietly debuts on Twitch with casual hoops session, announcing plans for daily streams.

  • Bieber’s first Twitch broadcast shows him shooting hoops and playing pool, marking his official entry into the platform.

  • The unscripted stream hints at future behind-the-scenes content on Twitch, following a trend of mainstream artists on creator platforms.

Justin Bieber quietly made his Twitch debut Wednesday, opening a channel under the handle JustinBieber and streaming a casual hoops session with friends. The pop star flagged the moment on X, writing, “Live on http://twitch.tv/justinbieber now.”

The inaugural stream, which featured Bieber shooting around and hanging courtside, marked his first broadcast on the Amazon-owned platform.

Entertainment outlet Vulture also noted the live launch, adding that early viewers saw Bieber pivot from basketball to billiards in what looked like a multipurpose studio space. The post characterized the rollout as a low-key introduction to the platform after Bieber promoted the stream with a simple “Live now” message.

While Bieber has previously leveraged live video on other platforms, this is the first verified Twitch stream tied to his official username, which now displays an active channel page.

The broadcast extends a broader trend of mainstream artists experimenting with creator platforms that started in gaming and now host “Just Chatting,” sports, and studio-style content.

The stream’s unscripted, hangout feel matches what typically performs in Twitch’s non-gaming categories and could preview future behind-the-scenes sessions around sports, studio work, or casual Q&As.

Coverage from TMZ and Vulture, paired with Bieber’s own promotional post, suggests the launch was intentional, even if understated.
