For the next week, your Grindr notifications may sound a little different, thanks to Christina Aguilera.
Just in time for her headlining set at the Portola Music Festival in San Francisco on Sept. 20, the pop legend has teamed up with Grindr to temporarily swap the app’s iconic “bloop” alert for the unmistakable opening of her 1999 hit, Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You).
“When that ‘Come on Over’ sound hits at the festival, or wherever you’re celebrating, I hope things get spicy!” Aguilera said in a statement, joking that the collaboration is “a threesome I can get behind” with Portola and Grindr.
The limited-time feature rolls out nationwide on Sept. 15 for all users who have sound notifications enabled. Fans can also spot Aguilera across Grindr’s in-app promotions and social feeds as part of the partnership.
Grindr Pays Tribute to a Queen

The move celebrates Aguilera’s long-standing status as a queer icon, as well as the 25th anniversary of her debut album, which was re-released in August with a Spotify tribute.
Presented by Goldenvoice, Portola Festival is known for its eclectic lineup and big-name headliners. With Aguilera at the top of the bill, the timing of Grindr’s sound swap feels tailor-made for festival hookups and IRL meetups.
