A Los Angeles judge has denied Cher’s request for a temporary conservatorship over son Elijah Blue Allman.

In early January, the court blocked Cher’s effort to put Elijah into a conservatorship and sided with Elijah’s attorney’s when they argued that they hadn’t been given enough time to make their case against the conservatorship. In addition, the judge claimed they did not get the documents needed to combat her request.

Cher initially cited her son’s ongoing battle with addiction as the reason she wants the legal standing used on him. She also claims that he cannot be trusted to manage his finances on his own.

She also notes that regular payments he recieves from a trust fund left behind from his late father, Gregg Allman, are likely to be squandered because of the issues she claims Elijah continues to experience.

He has denied the comments and claims he is cleaning up his act.

And as of late, the judge heard the arguments and is once again shooting down Cher and her team. The judge claims that they had not proved Elijah does not have the capacity to handle his own affiars. They also alleged there was a bipolar disorder diagnosis, but does not necessarily mean he is ‘incompetent’ but guardian needs. As the judge stated, that doesn’t address capacity.

The court acknowledged that Elijah has proven in paperwork that he has remained clean and sober as of late. In addition, the son has proven that he is handling his own money.

The judge set a future date on the trial for the issue, and it will be decided once and for all. The court also suggested that Cher and her son head into meditation as soon as possible. Cher was calling in to the court today and it was Elijah, his wife, and all lawyers in the courtroom.

“The court saw he does not need a temporary conservatorship,” a legal rep added. “He has a lot of support. He is doing great, he is doing fine. “
