Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny will take center stage at the Super Bowl LX halftime show, the NFL announced Sunday. The game is set for Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history,” the three-time Grammy winner said in a statement released by the league.

Bad Bunny recently concluded a two-month residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, a run that drew international attention and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in tourism revenue for the island .
The residency closed with a concert livestreamed on Amazon, underscoring his global reach.

Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation produces the NFL’s halftime show in partnership with Apple Music, praised the singer’s cultural impact. “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage,” he said. Oliver Schusser, Apple’s Vice President of Music, Sports and Beats, described his rise as “meteoric,” crediting him with bringing Latin music into the center of mainstream pop culture .

The announcement comes as Bad Bunny expands his acting career. He recently appeared in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore 2” on Netflix, where he played Oscar, a busboy-turned-caddie with a comedic role opposite Sandler. He has also starred in “Bullet Train” alongside Brad Pitt, the Netflix drama “Narcos: Mexico,” and “Cassandro,” with Gael García Bernal .
Later this year, Bad Bunny will headline “Saturday Night Live” and begin a world tour in November with stops in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Notably, he has opted against touring the mainland United States, citing concerns about potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids at concert venues .
Bad Bunny joins a short list of halftime headliners who have blended commercial dominance with cultural significance. Last year’s show, led by Kendrick Lamar, became the most-watched halftime performance in NFL history and earned four Emmy nominations.
