Joan Vassos has been named as the first leading lady of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

The series is set to premiere on ABC this fall with Vassos, 61, who was a contestant on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor” in the fall.

Fans fell in love with her personality, and many saw her create a strong tie with Gerry Turner. Though her time was cut short due to a medical emergency to be home with her daughter in Week 3, many are excited to see her return to the screen.

Vassos is a mother of four and a grandmother of two, who was widowed after 32 years of marriage.
